Mavericks 83 @ Southern Tigers 79
The Mavericks secured a narrow 83-79 victory against the Southern Tigers at St Francis de Sales Community Sports Centre in a contest that featured 16 lead changes.
BJ Symons delivered an outstanding performance with 21 points on extremely efficient 8-from-11 shooting from the field, while Broderick Robinson matched his teammate's scoring output, adding eight rebounds and three assists to his impressive stat line.
Despite the loss, Harry Morris was exceptional for the Southern Tigers, recording a dominant double-double with a game-high 23 points and 15 rebounds. The Mavericks' balanced attack proved decisive, with Owen Raneberg adding 16 points and Dominic Jackson contributing a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds).
The contest remained tight throughout, with the Mavericks holding the lead for 32 minutes compared to just four minutes for the Tigers. Southern's interior presence helped them outscore the Mavericks 50-36 in the paint, but the Mavericks' superior three-point shooting (34.6% to 23.8%) ultimately made the difference in this thrilling encounter.
Central Districts 93 @ North Adelaide 73
Central Districts dominated North Adelaide 93-73 at The Lights Community and Sports Centre, with Kevin Baker leading the charge with a stellar 19-point, 12-rebound double-double.
The Lions' victory was built on an exceptional shooting performance from beyond the arc, connecting on 13-from-31 (41.9%) three-pointers while controlling the glass with a commanding 55-34 rebounding advantage.
Bijan Johnson provided a standout individual effort for North Adelaide with 25 points and five assists, but his performance wasn't enough to overcome Central Districts' balanced attack. Jack Stanwix contributed 17 points and seven assists for the Lions, while Efemena Abogidi added 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Lions seized control with a 17-0 scoring run that helped establish a 20-point lead, cruising to a convincing victory that improves their standing in the NBL1 Central competition.
South Adelaide 93 @ Sturt 82
South Adelaide secured a hard-fought 93-82 victory against Sturt at Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre, fuelled by Chris Brandon's exceptional double-double. B
randon dominated with 30 points and 14 rebounds on impressive 54.5% shooting from the field, while Tom Kubank added 24 points, including three triples, in the winning effort.
Sturt stayed competitive behind Sharif Black's 21 points and Sam Daly's double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds), but South Adelaide's defensive presence proved decisive with 10 blocks and 10 steals. The Panthers converted these defensive stops into offensive opportunities, shooting an efficient 39.1% from three-point range compared to Sturt's 20.8%. Despite equal rebounding numbers (56 each), South Adelaide maintained control for over 33 minutes of the contest, gradually building their lead to as many as 20 points before securing their important Round 3 victory.
Norwood Flames 83 @ West Adelaide Bearcats 66
The West Adelaide Bearcats defeated the Norwood Flames 83-66 at The ARC Campbelltown on Friday night, powered by Keanu Rasmussen's dominant performance.
Rasmussen delivered a spectacular double-double with 35 points and 13 rebounds while adding 5 steals and 4 assists. The Bearcats star shot an impressive 65 percent from the field, including 4-from-7 from beyond the arc. For Norwood, Walter McBride led the way with 20 points and 9 rebounds, while Anthony Green contributed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
West Adelaide's victory was fuelled by their commanding presence in the paint, where they outscored Norwood 50-34. The Bearcats also capitalised on Norwood's 16 turnovers, converting them into 13 points. After trailing early, West Adelaide went on an 11-0 run to take control, eventually building their lead to as many as 21 points. The Bearcats also dominated the glass, collecting 50 rebounds to Norwood's 39, including 18 offensive boards that led to 17 second-chance points. Apiok Dau (13 points, 8 rebounds) and Lat Mayen (12 points, 9 rebounds) provided solid support for West Adelaide.
