SuperCoach NBL experts reveal their trade plans for round 11

After all the Code Sports Basketball experts traded in Perth Wildcats superstar Bryce Cotton last round — and reaped the enormous rewards — they are following a similar SuperCoach NBL path again for round 11.

At least when it comes to their first trade — after that things get interesting.

OUT: Keanu Pinder and Matt Mooney

IN: Jack White and Owen Foxwell

JESSICA ROBINSON

IN: Jack White and Carlin Davison

OUT: Keanu Pinder and NBL Next Star Alex Toohey

Jessica says: "Was tossing up between spending my $$ on Kendric Davis and Jack White, but with Melbourne United on the double next round also, my decision was made. Toohey has been a constant in my team but with the Kings on a single he makes way for Davison, who’s price is expected to rise. Jack White is back from injury."

Jaymz says: "I saw Frank Turner at The Espy on Tuesday and there’s a moment in his song ‘Get Better’ that resonated drastically with my SuperCoach season. Hundreds of people screamed along with Frank’s refrain of “We can get better… cos we’re not dead yet” in the sweaty heat of the Gershwin Room. ‘Hell yeah’, I thought, ‘despite trading in Emmett Naar (score last week: -2) at the last second in place of Tyler Robertson (score last week: a cumulative 5)... maybe we’re not dead yet’. My team is now set up nicely to trade at will and pick and choose based on match-ups and shuffle players in and out with plenty of trades in the bank ... and also rage-trade Pinder and his inconsistent, rollercoaster scoring. So this week Cooks goes out for White on a tasty double up against the New Zealand Breakers and Brisbane Bullets, while a week loan of Humphries playing two more games without Trezz should see him smash that BE of 27 and deliver nice $$ boost, meaning I can switch him to Tyrell Harrison or whoever I like the following week and also free up more dollars to snag Kendric Davis in a few weeks. The team might be on life support, but we’re not dead yet."

IN: Jack White and Keanu Rasmussen

OUT: Keanu Pinder and Keli Leaupepe

SuperCoach Pleb says: "Plenty of opportunities this round with several stars being out injured/suspended. I’ve got high hopes for Keanu Rasmussen, who gets a huge opportunity with not only Kendrick Davis out for another game, but now Dejan Vasiljevic. Expect a huge boost in role and minutes, which could see a players who’s only worth $67.5K be a rare mid-season cash cow. He’ll be traded in for Keli Leaupepe via DPP Dylan Windler. My second trade is Keanu Pinder, who has been the most underwhelming, inconsistent player this season. Consistency has been a huge issue in his Perth career, and he’s now getting outplayed by Izan Almansa, who John Rillie clearly favours over him. To replace him, I’ll be bringing in Jack White. With no Goulding, that’s 13FGA that can be spread around to others. Everyone benefits. I also don’t mind Casey Prather. I think he can drop 40 SC on Adelaide. Captaincy has to go with PJC. Yes, Cotton just came off a legendary performance, but PJC also had a career night. What Illawarra do to Cotton could be a sub 30 SC evening for him."

OUT: Keanu Pinder and Alex Higgins-Titcha

IN: Jack White and NBL Next Star Rocco Zikarsy

Tim says: "Jack White is a must whenever he has a double, and Higgins-Titcha hasn’t played in about a month since I used my last boost on him. Zikarsy’s minutes are likely to take a hit with Tyrell Harrison back after an illness, but he’s got money to make and fits my budget. Rocco Zikarsky has hit form for the Brisbane Bullets."

CHLOE WILLIAMS

OUT: Xavier Cooks and Keanu Pinder

IN: Tyrell Harrison and Jack White

Chloe says: "Boring, but potentially necessary. At the risk of someone copying this idea, I will say I wanted to grab Waardenburg as a one-week POD – the only trouble is, I’ll have too many Wildcats to axe next week if I do, and I used my final boost last week. I may have a change of heart, but for now I’ll begrudgingly play it safe and target White for two weeks of doubles, and Harrison for many. I guess sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry ... unless ..."

AL PATON

IN: Jack White and Casey Prather

OUT: Xavier Cooks and Keanu Pinder

Al says: "The one-week loan of Cooks worked ... sort of ... and he’s straight out again for White – one of the easiest trades of the year. For my second trade I still can’t decide whether to get Prather — who will sit on my bench this week but will be great for Brisbane’s run of doubles — or Isaac Humphries on a one-week loan. I love the Humph so it’s still a very real option."

OUT: Xavier Cooks, Keanu Pinder

Patch says: "After the big song and dance I made last week about my trades being the best ever, they were... fine, I guess. I’m $3k off going Henshall to Harrison, which is immensely frustrating, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I wanted to hold Keanu Pinder despite the looming cash drop but he has to go. I don’t want to trade to someone on a double for one week (sorry Waardenburg) because I’ve got to ditch my Wildcats ahead of their final double, so Harrison comes in assuming he’s fit. Part of me wants to hold Cooks but alas, he’s my ticket to White and then Trezz in a few weeks, and Jack White is a boring — but necessary — trade-in."
