Jack White bound for Bayern Munich
NBA champion Jack White is on the move to Europe.
- White has signed with German powerhouse Bayern Munich
- Due to his signing late in the season, he won't qualify for EuroLeague play
- White joins NBL alumni Will McDowell-White and Ben Ayre in Germany
With the NBL off-season in full-swing, Jack White has made his move.
The NBA and NBL champion is set to embark on his first European basketball experience, with BasketNews and ESPN confirming the Australian forward is expected to join German powerhouse Bayern Munich for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
The 27-year-old Melbourne United star, fresh off a five-game NBL25 Championship Series, will bring his versatile skillset to the reigning German champions as they push toward domestic success.
White's Path to Europe
Jack White's basketball career has been marked by success at multiple levels. The 27-year-old forward has already collected championship rings in both the NBA and NBL, establishing himself as a winning player with a valuable combination of skills.
White was a cornerstone for Melbourne United in their 2024-25 NBL campaign. He posted impressive averages of 13.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, while coming under scrutiny for his shooting and offensive mindset during the NBL Grand Final series.
His shooting efficiency was solid, converting 59.3 per cent of his two-point attempts and maintaining a solid 36.1 per cent mark from three-point range.
But White declined his player option with Melbourne United for the 2025-26 season, opening the door for new opportunities abroad.

Bayern Munich's Current Standing
White joins Bayern Munich at an exciting time for the German club, who are in excellent form in both their domestic league and the prestigious EuroLeague competition.
In the EuroLeague, Bayern sits in the top five with just two rounds remaining in the regular season. This positions them well for a potential playoff run in Europe's premier club competition. However, due to passing the player registration deadline, White will not be eligible to participate in EuroLeague action this season.
Instead, White's impact will be felt in the German Bundesliga, where Bayern currently leads the standings. His addition provides the German champions with additional frontcourt depth and versatility as they pursue another domestic championship.
The Australian Connection
White joins a growing list of Australian basketballers making their mark in Europe, headlined by Mitch Creek and Will Magnay in Turkey. Germany is also becoming a hotbed for Australian talent, with NBL alumni Will McDowell-White and Ben Ayre already playing in the BBL.
Looking Ahead
While White's immediate focus will be on helping Bayern secure the German Bundesliga championship, this move potentially opens new doors for his basketball future. A strong showing in Germany could lead to expanded opportunities in Europe, including potential EuroLeague eligibility in future seasons.
At 27 years old, White is entering what should be his athletic prime, with his best basketball potentially still ahead. This European experience will add another dimension to his game and expose him to different coaching approaches and playing styles.
