Australian Boomers and Chicago Bulls point guard Josh Giddey has pulled off a monster play, landing a half-court buzzer beater to bury Lebron James and the LA Lakers in stunning scenes in Chicago on Friday, March 28, 2025

Just when we thought Giddey’s form could not get any better the Boomers guard, who is set to secure a new $47m a year deal from the Chicago Bulls, came up with the biggest highlight of his career to win the game.

The Bulls star, who has been running supremely hot since All Star break, continued his brilliant form dropping a classy triple double with 25 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and two steals.

But the young Aussie’s viral moment came with just 1.1 seconds left on the match clock.

Giddey launched a shot from over halfway with James, one of the greatest NBA players in history, in his face with an out-stretched arm.

Immediately Giddey knew the ball was on target, leaving his right arm hanging in the air as he watched it sail perfectly into the basket to secure the Bulls a 119-117 victory.

“That’s a Bulls win,” roared Giddey as he left the court a hero.

Commentators were absolutely stunned at the chaotic scenes.

“Oh my god! I cannot believe this,” screamed the commentators.

“Giddey, g’day mate.

“You better embrace him, get your tickets. This is a special team.

“Watch Giddey. Half court. That is a shot for the ages. That will be replayed when we are all gone. What a shot to win a game from half court. Wow.”

It was Giddey’s fifth triple-double of the season putting him in truly elite company for the Bulls - joining the GOAT Michael Jordan as the only players in club history to achieve a triple-double five times in the same season.
