Jordan and Kobe head-to-head in September 2025

NBA superstars Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant first went head-to-head each other on December 18, 1996 (AEST), when Jordan’s Chicago Bulls played Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers at the United Center in Chicago.

Jordan was 33 years old and already a four-time NBA champion while Kobe was an 18-year-old rookie coming off the bench in his first season.

Just shy of 30 years later they are squaring off again but this time in shoe releases. Air Jordan is releasing numerous models, including the Air Jordan 40s as well as retro Air Jordan IVs and Vs. While Kobe 9 Elite Low "Moonwalkers" hit the shelves on September 11.
