How Australians performed in the NBA on March 11, 2025

  • Josh Giddey hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter of Chicago's win over Indiana
  • Giddey put up 29 points, 10 assists and four rebounds before the injury
  • Dyson Daniels once again starred for Atlanta with 25 points

An ankle injury has soured another star performance from Australian guard Josh Giddey after he recorded a massive double-double in just 28 minutes to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 121-103 win over the Indiana Pacers at the United Center.

Giddey, along with his backcourt partner Coby White, dominated the Pacers with 29 points, 10 rebounds and four assists before suffering a sprained right ankle, the same ankle he injured at the Paris Olympics, early in the fourth quarter.

After a tightly contested first quarter that ended 27-27, the Bulls seized control with a dominant 40-21 second quarter performance with Chicago's offensive explosion giving them a commanding 67-48 halftime lead, providing a cushion they maintained throughout the second half.

The Pacers attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Chicago 30-27, but the deficit proved too substantial as Chicago's balanced attack and efficient shooting established a lead as high as 26 points.

Giddey showcased his all-around game, shooting an efficient 11-from-18 from the field while adding one block while White matched Giddey's 29 points, connecting on 11-from-20 shots and adding seven rebounds.

The Bulls shot 50 percent from the field compared to Indiana's 39.6 percent and dominated the glass with a 56-39 rebounding advantage.

Despite the loss, Indiana received solid contributions from Myles Turner (15 points, four rebounds) and Ben Sheppard (12 points) but the Pacers struggled from three-point range, connecting on just 10-of-40 attempts (25 percent) compared to Chicago's 12-of-33 (36.4 percent).

There have been no updates as of yet on the severity of Giddey's ankle injury but the performance continues his red-hot form since the Bulls traded Zach LaVine.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Atlanta Hawks

Dyson Daniels continues to not only put his name forward for defensive player of the year but also for most improved after a monster game in Atlanta's 132-123 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at State Farm Arena.

Daniels had 25 points, shooting 10-from-15 from the field, dished out nine assists and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Hawks to victory.

He also had two steals to take his tally for the season to 180.

Charlotte Hornets @ Miami Heat

Josh Green played 32 minutes and had a plus-minus of +15 as the Charlotte Hornets recorded a 105-102 road win over the Miami Heat.

Green had three points, six rebounds and two assists in the game.

Orlando Magic @ Houston Rockets

Aussie big man Jock Landale is once again struggling for minutes with the Houston Rockets despite the team's 97-84 home win over the Orlando Magic.

Landale played just the two minutes and grabbed one rebound.

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs

Dane Exum is taking full advantage of a bigger role with all the injuries within the Dallas Mavericks team, starting and playing a significant role in the team's 133-129 road win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Exum played 24 minutes and had 10 points, including 2-from-4 from the three-point line.

Portland Trailblazers @ Golden State Warriors

Duop Reath played 15 minutes as the Portland Trailblazers fell 130-120 to the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.

Reath struggled from the field, going 0-from-4 from the three-point line, and had two points and three rebounds in the game.
