Mark Bradtke established himself as one of the most dominant centres in NBL history during his 20-year career from 1988 to 2007. Standing at 208 cm (6'10"), Bradtke used his size and skill to become the league's all-time leading rebounder with 6,283 career boards. He was a key player on three championship teams and earned seven consecutive All-NBL First Team selections from 1991 to 1997.

Career snapshot

Bradtke made his NBL debut in 1988 with the Adelaide 36ers at just 18 years old. He quickly developed into one of the league's premier big men, leading the NBL in rebounding six times. In 1993, Bradtke joined the Melbourne Tigers and helped lead them to championships in 1993 and 1997 alongside Andrew Gaze and Lanard Copeland. He finished his career with the Brisbane Bullets, winning a third title in 2007 at age 37.

Playing style

As a centre, Bradtke was known for his rebounding prowess and interior scoring ability. He had great timing and positioning to pull down rebounds on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Bradtke had a soft touch around the rim and could score with his back to the basket. He was also an underrated passer out of the post.
