A day Alex Ducas will never forget, he hit his first three

  • Oklahoma City Thunder's Alex Ducas scores his points of his NBA career
  • Josh Giddey has another consist performance, a 12-11 double-double
  • Patty Mills was a DNP-coach's decision

Sacramento Kings held off a late surge from the Chicago Bulls to secure a hard-fought 124-119 (Game Centre) victory on January 12, 2025 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

De'Aaron Fox led the charge for the Kings, pouring in 26 points and spearheading a balanced offensive attack that saw five Sacramento players score in double figures.

Australian point guard Josh Giddey was three assists short of another triple double. He finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and a steal. He was +2 in 37 minutes.

Kings guard Malik Monk provided a spark off the bench with 18 points and 9 assists, while Keegan Murray chipped in 14 points including three crucial three-pointers.

The Kings out-rebounded the Bulls 53-45, with Sabonis grabbing a game-high 15 boards to go along with his 22 points and 8 assists. This dominant interior presence allowed Sacramento to overcome a subpar shooting night from beyond the arc, where they hit just 33.3% of their attempts compared to Chicago's 48.6%.

The win improves Sacramento's record to 20-19, keeping them firmly in the mix for a playoff spot in the West. They'll look to build on this momentum as they continue their road trip with a visit to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

Chicago, meanwhile, falls to 18-21 and will need to regroup quickly.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Washington Wizards

Australian guard Alex Ducas scored his first NBA bucket in the Thunder's 136-95 demolition of the Washington Wizards.

Ducas, 24, hit a rainbow three from the corner, right in front of his OKC teammates, who celebrated his first make by holding up three fingers.

Brooklyn Nets @ Utah Jazz

Australian point-forward Ben Simmons had himself a ball game in Brooklyn's tough one-point road loss to the Utah Jazz — 112-111.

Simmons finished with 14 points on 7-from-11 from the field, six rebounds and nine assists in 32 minutes. He also had two blocks.

Australian point guard Patty Mills was a DNP-coach's decision.

Denver Nuggets @ Dallas Mavericks

Australian forward Dante Exum is still out of the Mavericks line-up injured. The Mavericks lost 112-101.

Indiana Pacers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Australian forward Johnny Furphy logged three minutes in the Pacers 108-93 win against the league-leading Cleveland Cavaliers.

He pulled down two rebounds.

Charlotte Hornets @ Phoenix Suns

Australian defensive specialist Josh Green knows his role. The 6'5", 24-year-old Sydneysider didn't score a bucketload of points but when you have Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the other side of the ball, it's not the only contribution a baller can make.

Green logged 30 minutes, scored two points on 1-from-4 from the field in Charlotte's 120-113 loss to the Suns in Phoenix. He had seven rebounds, three steals and was +5.
