The Townsville Fire have put on an absolute clinic on both ends of the court to sweep the Perth Lynx 2-0 after a 106-76 win (Game Centre) in Game Two of the WNBL semi-finals at the Townsville Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Six players scored in double figures for the Fire, booking a spot in the WNBL Grand Finals series, with a match-up against either the Bendigo Spirit or Sydney Flames.

Bendigo leads its series 1-0 heading to Sydney (Game Centre) on Thursday, February 27 with a chance to sweep into a clash against the Fire.

Townsville's Abbey Ellis continued her breakout season in the WNBL, going close to a double-double with 18 points, nine assists and four rebounds from the point guard position while her teammate Courtney Woods continues to push herself for Australian Opals selection with 18 points of her own, along with eight rebounds.

Woods was efficient from the field as well, shooting 50% at 6-from-12, including 4-from-7 from the three-point line.

But the Fire, who move onto the grand final and will look to claim their second championship in three years, had many more contributors, including the Defensive Player of the Year in Lauren Cox with 15 points, 11 rebounds and six assists while Alicia Froling, Nia Coffey and Alex Fowler all reached double figures.

Townsville won the first quarter 26-21 but dominated the next two periods 52-32, ending Perth's impressive season without a win in the playoffs.

The Fire dominated everywhere on the floor, shooting 56% compared to Perth's 37% but also cleaning up on the glass 44-29 and moving the ball with more purpose than the Phoenix, dishing out 32 assists compared to just 12 from their opponents.

Ally Wilson finished her season in style for the Lynx with 24 points and seven rebounds.
