One of the most respected voices in Australian basketball has joined basketball.com.au with former Boomer and 15-year NBL veteran Jason Cadee signing on as a columnist and contributor ahead of NBL26.

Cadee retired at the end of NBL25 after a decorated career, which included 424 games in the league for the Gold Coast Blaze, Adelaide 36ers, Sydney Kings and Brisbane Bullets.

His achievements include winning the 2020 Best Sixth Man Award as well as being part of the Boomers' gold medal wins at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast as well as the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon in 2017. The 34-year-old Sydney product, who was brought up around the basketball world with his mum and dad both representing Australia, was also dominant at the NBL1 level and in the NZNBL.

Cadee is one of the most popular figures in the industry and will be a significant part of basketball.com.au's coverage in the coming months, providing his expert opinions, analysis and commentary on everything around Aussies in basketball — from the NBL and WNBL, to the NBA and college basketball, the Boomers and Opals and more.

"I can’t wait to join the team at basketball.com.au and @Bouncepass," Cadee said.

"I'm looking forward to being part of something that celebrates basketball at every level and staying engaged with the game in a new capacity.

"We're about to embark on one of the most anticipated NBL and WNBL seasons in history and there's so many other great things happening with Aussies around the world and at home in basketball that I'm looking to talking about."

Basketball.com.au general manager, Anthony Alsop, said Cadee was a big addition to the team and would provide invaluable insight into the game we all love.

"Jason is a perfect fit to help drive the vision of basketball.com.au forward with his knowledge, expertise and passion for Australian basketball," he said.

"Basketball fans can look forward to video content as well as written columns and more on some of the hottest topics in the game and there's no doubt his contributions will help take our coverage to the next level."

He joins a team, which already features Opals and University of Canberra Capitals star Sara Blicavs and two-time WNBL champion Bec Cole as well as key contributors editors Peter Brown and Brayden Heslehurst, Michael Houben, Hayley Wildes, Jackson MacDonald, Chris Pike, Daniel Sabatino and more.

Cadee's first piece for basketball.com.au will be a preview of the NBL26 season, coming out this week.
