Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence delivered a dominant defensive performance, crushing Canberra 74-44 at the BA Centre of Excellence. Isabel Smith led the young stars with 18 points on 53.3% shooting, while the team shot an efficient 47.5% from the field and held Canberra to a dismal 28.1%.
The Centre of Excellence showcased their depth with three players scoring in double figures, including Zara Russell (16 points) and Sitaya Fagan (11 points). Emilija Dakic contributed across the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists. Canberra's Mikala Williams (15 points) and Callie Bourne (12 points, 10 rebounds) fought valiantly, but couldn't overcome BA CoE's stifling defence.
Bankstown 77 def Maitland 73 — Watch the Replay
Juliunn Redmond delivered a stellar 30-point performance to lead Bankstown to a tight 77-73 victory over Maitland at Bankstown Basketball Stadium. Redmond added nine rebounds and five assists while shooting 37.5% from the field and converting 12 of her 16 free throw attempts in a complete offensive display.
Bankstown dominated the glass with a 47-32 rebounding advantage, including 20 offensive boards that led to 12 second-chance points. Kiahna Davis-White recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. For Maitland, Shakera Reilly was outstanding with 23 points on 44.4% shooting, including four three-pointers, while Kasey Neubert added 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the hard-fought contest.
Manly Warringah 100 def Albury Wodonga 84 — Watch the Replay
Taylor Wurtz exploded for 27 points as Manly Warringah secured a commanding 100-84 win over Albury Wodonga at Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre. Wurtz shot 6-from-17 from three-point range and added seven free throws, while Alex Delaney contributed an efficient 20 points on 66.7% shooting from the field.
Manly's offence was in full flow with 22 assists, including seven from Josie Bulman who also added 12 points. Kimberley Hodge recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Sea Eagles. Albury Wodonga was led by Caitlyn Jones with 28 points, while Riley Lupfer (24 points) and Brynn Masikewich (20 points, 16 rebounds) both delivered strong performances in defeat.
Norths Bears 77 def Newcastle 67 — Watch the Replay
Norths Bears secured a solid 77-67 win over Newcastle at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre, led by Madeleine O'Hehir's 15 points and Peggy Schell's dominant double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Bears controlled the paint, outscoring Newcastle 48-30 inside while shooting an impressive 60.9% on two-point attempts.
Nicole Munger delivered a spectacular double-double performance for Newcastle with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while adding five assists. Meg Jefferson contributed 17 points on highly efficient 70% shooting from the field, but Newcastle's 20 turnovers proved costly. The Bears' balanced attack featured five players scoring nine or more points, helping them maintain the lead for over 32 minutes of game time.
