Former Perth Lynx star and current EuroCup standout Chloe Bibby has added to the Australian flavour to feature in the WNBA in 2025 after signing with expansion franchise, the Golden State Valkyries.

The 26-year-old from Horsham, Victoria joins the WNBA’s 13th team as a rookie following an impressive season with Uni Girona CB in Spain, where she averaged 18 points per game and shot 47% from three-point range.

Bibby, a 6’1” forward who is known for her versatility and sharpshooting ability, was signed by the Valkyries alongside fellow internationals, forward Janelle Salaün and centre Kyara Linskens.

"Kyara's international experience, fast-paced and aggressive style of play, combined with Chloe's versatility and shooting ability, give us two competitors who fit exactly what we're looking for as we build this roster," Valkyries general manager Ohemaa Nyanin said.

“They both understand what we're building and are ready to help establish something special.”

Having represented Australia at the FIBA Under-19 World Championships alongside names such as Ezi Magbegor and Anneli Maley, Bibby went on to play college basketball with Mississippi State before transferring to Maryland.

Bibby led Maryland to back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances, averaging 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 61 games, earning her All-Big Ten Second Team honours in 2022 and an All-Big Ten Honourable Mention in 2021. She also spent the 2022 WNBA preseason on a training camp deal with the Minnesota Lynx.

Upon returning home, she played one season with the Perth Lynx under current coach Ryan Petrik and two-time WNBA champion Sami Whitcomb, helping the team to a spot in the finals.

Bibby then made the switch to play in Europe, spending one season with AZS AJP Gorzów Wielkopolski, winning Polish League MVP, before moving to Spain, where she recorded a season high of 30 points, five from six from three-point land, in December last year.

She was also part of the Australian Opals team, which won a bronze medal at the 2023 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in Sydney.
