Anneli Maley to provide plenty of 'Spark' in LA
Australian forward Anneli Maley joins LA Sparks for 2025 WNBA season

The Los Angeles Sparks has signed Australian forward Anneli Maley, the WNBL franchise announced on (AEST) Monday, February 3, 2025 .
The 2022 WNBL MVP played for the Chicago Sky in 2022 and is tearing up for the second-placed Perth Lynx in WNBL25.
Maley, 26, led the WNBL in scoring and rebounding her MVP season. She averaged two points and 1.8 rebounds on 50% from the field in her four WNBA games.
In 2023, Maley received a second consecutive training camp invitation from the Sky but did not appear in any regular-season contests.
The Melbourne-born 6'2" star has led Australian to an extraordinary eight medals in international competition, including gold at the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup and silver at the 2022 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup.
Maley also has represented Australia in 3×3 at the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris.
In WNBL25, she is second in the league in rebounds per game at 12. Maley is ninth league-wide in steals per game (1.7), along with averaging 12.2 points and 2.7 assists per her 19 games.
Maley played NCAAW basketball for University of Oregon for two seasons before transferring to Texas Christian University.
The Sparks announced the signing of forward Emma Cannon at the same time.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Emma and Anneli," Sparks Head Coach Lynne Roberts said.
"Their toughness and rebounding will elevate our team."
Sparks general manager Raegan Pebley echoed that sentiment.
“We’re excited to add two talented players to our group in Emma and Anneli,” Pebley said
“They are elite competitors who impact both ends of the floor with their toughness.”
