What Happened
Seattle established control early, taking a 24-19 lead after the first quarter behind strong performances from Diggins and Williams. The Mercury fought back in the second period, matching Seattle's output with 24 points as the teams went into halftime with the Storm leading 46-43.
The third quarter saw both teams struggle offensively, with Seattle outscoring Phoenix 19-18 to maintain their slim advantage. The Storm then dominated the final frame, putting together a decisive 24-16 fourth quarter to pull away for the 12-point victory.
Gabby Williams provided the spark for Seattle, hitting five three-pointers on six attempts while contributing seven assists without committing a single turnover. Her efficiency from beyond the arc proved crucial as the Storm connected on 12-from-22 (54.5%) three-point attempts compared to Phoenix's 8-from-25 (32%).
Australian centre Ezi Magbegor made her presence felt defensively for Seattle, recording a game-high three blocks while grabbing eight rebounds. Her protection around the rim limited Phoenix's interior scoring and forced them into tougher outside shots throughout the contest.
