McDowell-White has 8 points in Berlin loss
Highlights
ALBA Berlin EuroLeague woes continue, blown out by 32
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan delivered a masterclass performance, dismantling Australian guard William McDowell-White's ALBA Berlin 100-68 in a EuroLeague Round 21 matchup at the Unipol Forum.
The Italian side showcased their offensive firepower and stifling defence, leaving their German opponents shell-shocked.
White finished with eight points, two rebounds, two steals and four fouls in 21 minutes.
Milan set the tone early, jumping out to a 23-19 lead after the first quarter. However, it was in the second half where they truly asserted their dominance. The home team outscored ALBA 31-10 in a blistering third-quarter run that effectively put the game out of reach. Milan's suffocating defence held ALBA to just 25 points in the entire second half, whilst pouring in 53 points of their own.
The victory solidifies Milan's position in the playoff hunt, improving their record to 12-9 and maintaining their grip on the eighth and final playoff spot. For ALBA Berlin, the loss drops them to 6-15, further dimming their already faint postseason hopes.
Milan's offensive onslaught was led by the dynamic duo of Nikola Mirotic and Shavon Shields. Mirotic put on a shooting clinic, finishing with a game-high 21 points on an efficient 7-from-10 shooting, including 4-from-7 from beyond the arc. Shields added 16 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Perhaps the most impressive statistic of the night was Milan's three-point shooting. The Italian side connected on a scorching 14-from-30 attempts from long range, good for 46.7%. In stark contrast, ALBA Berlin struggled mightily from deep, hitting just 4-from-22 attempts for a paltry 18.2%. McDowell-White made two of them.
Zach LeDay provided a spark off the bench for Milan, contributing 18 points and six rebounds in just under 20 minutes of play. His energy and efficient scoring (4-from-7 from the field, including 4-from-6 from three-point range) epitomised Milan's dominant performance.
For ALBA Berlin, Yanni Wetzell led the way with 13 points and seven rebounds, but it was far from enough to keep pace with Milan's offensive barrage. The German side struggled to find any rhythm, committing 11 turnovers and allowing Milan to dictate the tempo throughout the contest.
