Central Districts (1-0) secured a nail-biting 95-93 victory against the Mavericks (0-1) at STARplex in a contest that featured an incredible 15 lead changes.

Kevin Baker led the way with an impressive 20 points and nine rebounds on efficient 50 percent shooting, while Jack Stanwix recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. Efemena Abogidi contributed a stellar 17 points in just 17 minutes of action.

Despite the loss, Mavericks' Broderick Robinson was the standout performer with a dominant 30-point, 10-assist double-double while shooting 4-from-10 from beyond the arc. BJ Symons added a double-double of his own with 15 points and 11 rebounds on perfect 7-from-7 shooting from the field.

The game remained intensely competitive throughout, with Central Districts holding the lead for just 1 minute and 21 seconds of game time before securing the final advantage.

South Adelaide @ Southern Tigers

South Adelaide (1-0) delivered a dominant performance at Morphett Vale Basketball Stadium, overwhelming Southern Tigers (0-1) 86-61 behind Chris Brandon's explosive 29-point, nine-rebound performance. Brandon shot an impressive 58 percent from the field, including 3-from-5 from beyond the arc. Tom Kubank added 15 points while Curtis Scott contributed 12 points, seven assists, and four steals as South Adelaide led for over 39 minutes.

The Panthers' defense was exceptional, limiting Southern Tigers to a dismal 31 percent shooting from the field and just 18.5 percent from three-point range. Harry Morris led the Tigers with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Jarvis Summers added 12 points, but the team struggled throughout, committing 21 turnovers that South Adelaide converted into eight points. The Panthers established a commanding 25-point lead during the contest, showcasing their superiority on both ends of the court to begin their season with an impressive victory.
