Darren Smith, COO of the JackJumpers, explained how the connection between the two clubs will further enhance basketball on Apple Isle.
"We are delighted to see Weeksy appointed as the head coach of the Hobart Chargers," he said.
"The appointment will allow both the JackJumpers and Chargers to have continued alignment, and for both clubs to continue to strengthen basketball at the elite level in the south of the state."
In 2010, Weeks joined the Sydney Kings. He appeared in two games during the 2010–11 season but did not play in 2011–12. He returned to the court with the Kings, playing 10 games in 2012–13 and 12 games in 2013–14.

Weeks came back to the NBL for the 2015–16 season, initially joining the Illawarra Hawks as an injury replacement player. He went on to play for the Cairns Taipans in the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons.
On 23 April 2018, Weeks signed a two-year contract with the New Zealand Breakers. He extended his stay with the Breakers by signing a one-year deal for the 2020–21 season on 5 March 2020. In May 2021, he parted ways with the Breakers and rejoined the Sydney Kings for the remainder of that season.
On 14 July 2021, Weeks signed a two-year deal with the Tasmania JackJumpers.
