Central Districts @ Mavericks — Game Centre
Morgan Yaeger delivered a stellar 47-point performance as the Mavericks crushed Central Districts 110-81 at STARplex. The explosive guard shot an efficient 18-from-32 from the field, including 6-from-14 from downtown, while adding 14 rebounds and seven assists for a dominant double-double.
Aspen Williston provided outstanding support with 24 points and 10 rebounds on 10-from-16 shooting.
The Mavericks seized control early, building a lead that reached 35 points during a commanding performance. Central Districts struggled to contain the home team's inside presence, allowing 52 points in the paint while shooting just 38.5% from the field themselves. Sydneysimone Wright led the visitors with 23 points and 10 assists, achieving a double-double, but it wasn't enough to counter Yaeger's explosive scoring display and the Mavericks' 48.3% shooting efficiency.
South Adelaide @ Southern Tigers — Game Centre
South Adelaide secured a hard-fought 70-58 victory against Southern Tigers at Morphett Vale Basketball Stadium. Ashleigh Spencer led the Panthers with 19 points, six free throws and four steals, while Hannah Gardiner contributed 16 points and Hatti Cox added 16 points with five assists. The balanced attack and stifling defense helped South Adelaide maintain control throughout the contest.
McKenzie Johnston posted an exceptional double-double for Southern Tigers with 26 points and 14 rebounds on an outstanding 11-from-18 shooting, but received little support from her teammates. Southern Tigers struggled offensively, converting just 31.1% of their field goal attempts and managing only four three-pointers on 16 attempts. South Adelaide's defensive intensity forced 16 turnovers while their balanced scoring attack saw three players reach double figures. The win puts South Adelaide in a strong position heading into their Round 2 matchup against West Adelaide.
