The Southside Flyers kept it close early, establishing a 40-38 halftime lead before breaking the game open in the third quarter. A 24-19 run to start the second half gave the Flyers a solid 64-57 advantage heading into the final period.

The turning point came midway through the third quarter when Maddi Rocci ignited a 9-0 Flyers run with a three-pointer at the 6:31 mark. This stretch, capped by a Dallas Loughridge jumper, extended Southside's lead to 54-46 and had Sydney playing from behind the rest of the way.

Naz Hillmon was unstoppable for Southside, showcasing her efficiency with a 13-from-22 shooting performance. Her 30 points came from all areas of the court, including 2-from-6 from beyond the arc. Hillmon's plus-minus of +16 highlighted her overall impact on the game.

For Sydney, Shaneice Swain put up 20 points, but struggled with efficiency, shooting just 7-from-23 from the field. The Flames' offense sputtered, managing only 37.1% shooting as a team compared to Southside's 48.5%.

The Flyers' superior ball movement was evident, as they recorded 21 assists to Sydney's 12. Maddi Rocci orchestrated the offense beautifully, dishing out a game-high nine assists to go along with her 17 points.

Defensively, Southside forced 19 Sydney turnovers, converting them into 16 points. The Flyers also dominated in transition, outscoring the Flames 19-4 in fast break points.

Southside Flyers' 2024-25 has ended in disappointment after winning the WNBL championship last season.

Sydney has work to do heading into their first finals campaign in seven years.
