Georgia Amoore on a mission in her 5th NCAA season
Ballarat-born point guard Georgia Amoore has the 12-1 Kentucky Wildcats cookin'.
The 1.68m, 23-year-old fifth-year graduate student transferred from Virginia Tech after four seasons before the start of the 2024-25 NCAA season, following former Hokies coach Kenny Brooks to the SEC.
Amoore scored her 2000th NCAAW point in UK's 30-point win against the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She finished the ball game with 21 points (8-from-15), two rebounds, two assists, two steals in 36 minutes.
She has scored 20 straight points in five consecutive games — all wins — since Kentucky's 72-53 loss to the 16th ranked University of North Carolina on December 6.
ESPN had Amoore ranked 11th in their pre-season Top Women's Players of 2024-25 and she's is living up to the hype. Through nine games, the Australian Opal is averaging 15 points, 7.8 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 91% from the free throw line on big minutes, 35.8 per game.

Amoore finished her career at Virginia with accolades as long as your arm. She led the Hokies to their first Final Four in 2023, was a third-team All-American in 2024. In four years at Virginia, Amoore averaged 18.8p, 6.8a, 2.6rpg. Amoore isVirginia Tech’s all-time career leader in assists (656), assists / turnover ratio (1.8) and average minutes played (34.3). She is also second in threes made (330) and third in scoring (1,853).
