What Happened

Australia secured a hard-fought five-point victory against Cameroon in the second game of their FIBA World Cup campaign, overcoming a strong individual performance from Cameroon's Franck Belbi. The Australians used their depth and defensive pressure to force 28 Cameroon turnovers, which proved decisive in the close contest.

The balanced Australian attack featured four players scoring in double figures. Dash Daniels and Roman Siulepa each contributed 22 points, while Jacob Furphy added 18 points in a team-high 46 minutes of action. Alexander Dickeson rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, three steals and four assists.

Cameroon stayed competitive thanks to dominant interior play from Amadou Seini, who controlled the glass with an impressive 25 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. His presence helped Cameroon win the rebounding battle 63-54. Gedeon Basson supported Belbi's offensive output with 24 points, including four three-pointers, while Noe Bom added 18 points and five assists.

Australia's superior ball movement and defensive pressure created key opportunities. The Australians recorded 16 steals compared to Cameroon's seven, turning those turnovers into valuable transition points. Che Dean Miller Brogan was particularly disruptive with four steals, while Dickeson and Furphy each added three.

Despite shooting just 27 percent from beyond the arc (10-from-37), Australia's efficiency inside the paint proved sufficient. They converted 45.9 percent of their two-point attempts (28-from-61) and maintained consistent scoring across all quarters. Goc Malual provided efficiency in limited minutes, shooting an outstanding 80 percent from the field (4-from-5) while securing nine rebounds.
